Server buyout

Buying computers and PCs

Selling decommissioned computers rather than storing them

After a replacement programme, the old devices often remain in a warehouse for months on end. Every month results in a loss of residual value, as hardware constantly loses its market value. Reuzado buys depreciated computers from businesses and organisations: desktops, all-in-ones, workstations, thin clients and the accompanying monitors.

We collect everything from you, register each device by its serial number, carry out certified data erasure and pay out the residual value. Any equipment that no longer has any technical value is sent for processing via WEEELABEX-certified partners.

A valuation is non-binding. Please send us a list; a rough export from your asset management system will suffice.

This is how the buy-out works

1. List and estimate

You send us the models, configurations and quantities. We assess the residual value and provide a price range before anything is collected.

2. Collection

We collect the equipment, including dismantling the workstations if required. Transport is carried out in enclosed vehicles with traceable records.

3. Registration and data deletion

Every computer is registered by its serial number upon arrival. Hard drives and SSDs are either overwritten in accordance with certification standards or physically destroyed.

4. Refurbish or recycle

Equipment with residual value is cleaned, tested and prepared for reuse. The rest is recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.

5. Report and payment

You will receive a report containing the serial numbers, erasure method and yield by post. Payment will be made once approval has been given.

Which computers do we buy?

  • Desktops from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Fujitsu and other brands
  • All-in-one systems and compact mini PCs
  • Workstations with a separate graphics card, such as those used in CAD workstations
  • Thin clients and zero clients in VDI environments
  • Monitors, docking stations, keyboards and mice
  • Individual components: memory, processors, graphics cards, power supplies, hard drives and SSDs

We also collect older or faulty devices. These often still have some value in their components, and even if they don’t, you’ll save on disposal costs. More importantly, we handle the data storage media from these devices with just as much care as we do those from working computers.

Why selling pays off

A business desktop from the last four to five years almost always retains some market value, even if it has long since been written off for accounting purposes. With a fleet of a hundred workstations, this adds up to a sum that significantly reduces the cost of the next round of replacements.

The second reason carries more weight than the financial gain. Under the GDPR, a computer that leaves the building without having been wiped constitutes a data breach that must be reported. Workplace computers contain local user profiles, saved login details, email archives and documents that nobody even realises are still there.

Our processing procedures are specifically designed for this purpose: every serial number is recorded, every data carrier is documented, and every step is verifiable.

on-site data destruction

Data deletion is part of the process

Whenever we purchase devices, we assume that they still contain data, even if your IT department has wiped them beforehand. In practice, in virtually every batch, there is at least one data storage medium left that is still readable.

That is why each data carrier is treated individually: it is either overwritten or shredded in accordance with certified standards, whichever is safer. You will receive a certificate with a serial number for each data carrier. Find out more at data destruction.

Fully equipped workstations and branches

When carrying out a replacement programme or closing a branch, we not only take the computers with us, but also monitors, docks, peripherals and cabling. On request, we will dismantle the workstations on site and coordinate the collection with your facilities team.

Frequently asked questions about computer buyout

How much is my old computer still worth?

That depends on the processor generation, RAM, storage and condition. Business devices from the last four to five years fetch the highest prices. You’ll always receive a no-obligation valuation before anything is collected.
